How to use SALAZAR TABLET DR

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. It is better to take Salazar ds tablet dr with food.

How SALAZAR TABLET DR works

Salazar ds tablet dr blocks the action of certain chemical messengers that are responsible for inflammation, swelling and redness associated with certain autoimmune diseases. It suppresses the underlying disease process, rather than simply treating the disease.

  • Inform your doctor if you ever had any form of drug allergy. 
  • Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to conceive or breastfeeding. 
  • Inform your doctor if you have a fertility problem. Sulfasalazine may cause a fall in sperm count, so may lead to a temporary decrease in male fertility, but can be reversed if treatment is stopped.
  • Inform your doctor if you are suffering from any blood disease e.g. G6PD deficiency. 
  • Your doctor may ask to get some blood test before you start treatment and also during the course of treatment.
  • You may have to wait for 6 to 12 weeks to get the full effect.
  • You may experience loss of appetite and nausea when treatment is started.
  • Your urine may change color (to orange) but there is nothing to worry about.
  • Drink plenty of water while on treatment with Sulfasalazine. This helps to prevent kidney stone and kidney damage.
  • You should tell your doctor about all medicines you are taking or plan to take. This includes ayurvedic or herbal/naturopathic medicines.
