Laropiprant(1000 mg)


Laropiprant is always used in the combination with niacin to treat obesity and to reduce the side-effects caused by niacin.

How it works

Laropiprant belongs to the class of drugs known as prostanoid antagonists. Laropiprant does not have any effect of its own, however, it reduces the side effects of niacin which is used for its lipid reducing properties.

How it works

Vitamin B3 is the precursor to nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD) and nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADP), which are vital cofactors for dozens of enzymes. Vitamin B3 produces a decrease in esterification of hepatic triglycerides. Vitamin B3 treatment also decreases the serum levels of apolipoprotein B-100 (apo B), the major protein component of the VLDL (very low-density lipoprotein) and LDL fractions.
