Sidopin 10mg Capsule is used in the treatment of depression and insomnia.
It is used in patients intolerant of or unresponsive to alternative treatment options for depression.

Sleepiness, Blurred vision, Increased heart rate, Weight gain, Dryness in mouth, Orthostatic hypotension (sudden lowering of blood pressure on standing), Constipation, Difficulty in urination.


How to use Sidopin Capsule

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Sidopin 10mg Capsule may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Sidopin 10mg Capsule increases the levels of chemical messengers in the brain that help in regulating the mood and treat depression.

  • The main dose should be taken at night as this drug may produce drowsiness or sleepiness.
  • It can take 4 to 6 weeks for Sidopin to start working.
  • You should continue the treatment for at least 6 months after you feel better to stop depression from coming back.
  • If your doctor asks you to stop Sidopin, you should reduce the dose slowly over 4 weeks. You should not discontinue it abruptly.
  • Avoid driving or operating machinery as it may decrease alertness.
  • Avoid consuming alcohol when taking the Sidopin, as it may cause excessive drowsiness and calmness.
  • The addiction/dependence potential of Sidopin is very less.
  • It may be extremely dangerous in overdose.

Sidopin 10mg Capsule may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.

Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Sidopin 10mg Capsule is probably unsafe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.

The baby should be monitored carefully for excessive sleepiness, and adequate weight gain.
Sidopin 10mg Capsule may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired,
or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Sidopin 10mg Capsule is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Sidopin 10mg Capsule is recommended.

However, talk to your doctor if you have any underlying kidney disease.
Sidopin 10mg Capsule should be used with caution in patients
with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Sidopin 10mg Capsule may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

Missed Dosageuses

If you miss a dose of Doxepin, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
