Trunate 60 Tablet is normally prescribed when diet and exercise alone or other medicines have not been enough to control your blood sugar level. It works best when taken before meals. The dose will depend on your condition, and blood sugar levels, but you should use it as advised by your doctor.

You should take it regularly, at the same time each day, to get the most benefit and you should not stop unless your doctor recommends it. It is controlling your blood sugar levels and helping to prevent serious complications in the future. It is important to stay on the diet and exercise program recommended by your doctor while taking this medicine. Your lifestyle plays a big part in controlling diabetes.

The most common side effects of this medicine include upper respiratory tract infection, back pain, diarrhea, flu symptoms, dizziness, and joint pain. Contact your doctor if the side effects worry you or if they do not go away.

Before taking this medicine, let your doctor know if you have ever had kidney disease, heart or pancreas problems, or if you drink a lot of alcohol. Interaction with drugs

Taking Trunate with any of the following medicines can modify the effect of either of them and cause some undesirable side effects
Severe

Disopyramide (Oral Route)

If concurrent use is essential, watch out for symptoms such as confusion, headache, nausea, dizziness or faintness and consult your doctor if you experience them.
Moderate

Asparaginase (Injection Route)

Your doctor may monitor your diabetic control closely and adjust the doses as per the observations.

Fenfluramine (Oral Route)

Your doctor may monitor your diabetic control closely and adjust the doses as per the observations.

Bortezomib (Injection Route)

Your doctor may monitor blood glucose levels and adjust the dose, if required.

Leflunomide (Oral Route)

Watch out for symptoms of Nateglinide side effects such as back pain, dizziness, cough, diarrhea, congestion, headache or nausea and consult your doctor if you experience them. They may adjust the doses as per the observations. Leflunomide may raise blood levels of Nateglinide.
