How to use Oxylep Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Oxylep 300 mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How Oxylep Tablet works

Oxylep 300 mg Tablet is an antiepileptic medication. It controls seizures or fits by decreasing the abnormal and excessive activity of the nerve cells in the brain.

CAUTION
Oxylep 300 mg Tablet may cause excessive drowsiness with alcohol.
Pregnancy
WEIGH RISKS VS BENEFITS
Oxylep 300 mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation
Oxylep 300 mg Tablet is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
Baby should be monitored for excessive sleepiness and weight gain.
Driving
Do not drive unless you are feeling well.
Oxylep 300 mg Tablet may make you feel sleepy or dizzy, or may cause blurred vision, lack of muscle coordination, especially when starting treatment or increasing the dose. This may affect your driving ability.
Kidney
Oxylep 300 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Oxylep 300 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Liver
Oxylep 300 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe liver disease. Dose adjustment of Oxylep 300 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Dose adjustment is not recommended in patients with mild to moderate liver disease.

What if you miss a dose of Oxylep Tablet?

If you miss a dose of Oxylep 300 mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
