Epilepsy medicines may need to be continued for longer duration if seizures recur. Medicines weather it is divalproex sodium or leviteracetam need to be taken in adequate doses for seizure control. Donot reduce medicine without doctor's advice and continue follow up with your doctor. If encourage chrono suits you better and there are no liver related side effects, it is also a good choice.

Epilepsy is a central nervous system disorder (neurological disorder) in which nerve cell activity in the brain becomes disrupted, causing seizures or periods of unusual behavior, sensations and sometimes loss of consciousness. Medicines for epilepsy are initially recommended for at least 3 years of seizure free interval but may continue longer depending on recurrence. Epileptic patient needs to carry a warning card or a medical emergency bracelet with identification details, his/ her epilepsy status and what people can do if fit occurs in public place. Life style modifications- 1. Take your medication correctly. Don't adjust your dosage before talking to your doctor. If you feel your medication should be changed, discuss it with your doctor. 2. Get enough sleep. Lack of sleep can trigger seizures. Be sure to get adequate rest every night. 3. Exercise. Exercising may help keep you physically healthy and reduce depression. Make sure to drink enough water and rest if you get tired during exercise.

Oxcarbazepine can increase the sedative effects of Benadryl (diphenhydramine) or Xanax (alprazolam) or tramadol.
