Acyclovir(200 mg)

Uses

Optiviral 200mg tablet is used in the treatment of herpes labialis (sores around the border of the lips), genital herpes infection, chickenpox and herpes zoster (painful skin rash around the nerves of chest and back).

How it works

Optiviral 200mg tablet is an antiviral drug and belongs to class called synthetic nucleoside analogues. It works by blocking the process by which the virus grows and multiplies. Optiviral 200mg tablet thus stops the virus from spreading in the body.

Drink plenty of fluids and stay hydrated while taking acyclovir.
If  you have genital herpes it can spread through sexual contact even if you don't have blisters or other symptoms and possibly even if you are taking acyclovir. Take your doctor's advice on necessary precautions
