Product introduction

Defmind 50mg Tablet is taken by mouth with or without food. Take it at a fixed time each day to maintain consistent level of medicine in the blood. In case you have missed a dose, take it as soon as you remember. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. It is important that this medication is not stopped suddenly without talking to doctor as this may worsen your symptoms.

Some common side effects of this medicine includes nausea, vomiting, insomnia (difficulty in sleeping), and constipation. It may cause an increase in blood pressure, especially during the first month of treatment, monitor your blood pressure regularly. It may even cause dizziness and sleepiness, do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. It is important to inform your doctor if you develop any unusual changes in mood as it may lead to suicidal thoughts.

Interaction with drugs

Taking Defmind with any of the following medicines can modify the effect of either of them and cause some undesirable side effects
Life-threatening

Moclobemide (Oral Route)

Do not consume Moclobemide with Desvenlafaxine. If Moclobemide is essential, ensure a gap of at least 1 week after discontinuing Desvenlafaxine. Please consult your doctor.
Life-threatening

Tranylcypromine (Oral Route)

Your doctor may monitor your potassium levels regularly.
Life-threatening

Selegiline (Oral Route)

Do not consume Selegiline with Desvenlafaxine. If Selegiline is essential, ensure a gap of at least 2 weeks after discontinuing Desvenlafaxine. Please consult your doctor.
Severe

Ziprasidone (Oral Route)

Watch out for symptoms such as tremors, fever, diarrhea or agitation and consult your doctor if you experience them. Your doctor may discontinue the medicines accordingly.
