Tigatel 4 mg Tablet is an anti-epileptic medicine. It is used to control epileptic seizures/fits. This medicine should not be stopped abruptly without consulting your doctor as it may increase the occurrence of fits.

How to use Tigatel Tablet

How Tigatel Tablet works

Tigatel 4 mg Tablet controls seizures by increasing the levels of GABA, a chemical messenger which suppresses the abnormal and excessive activity of the nerve cells in the brain.

Liver
CAUTION
Tigatel 4 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe liver disease. Dose adjustment of Tigatel 4 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Use of Tigatel 4 mg Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease.

If you miss a dose of Tigatel 4 mg Tablet, skip it and continue with your normal schedule. Do not double the dose.

i am using insulin injection + fiaus 15 tablet , now sugar level is good, is there alternative medicine to stop such medicines? i am consuming tablets to prevent epilepsy too, past 3 years i don't have epilepsy is there any alternative medicines to prevent?

Q. Can Tigatel cause addiction?

No, Tigatel is not habit forming. There are no reports of it causing any physical or psychological dependence.

Q. What if I forget to take Tigatel?

Take the missed dose as soon as you remember it. But, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one. If you have missed more than one dose, call your doctor for instructions about re-starting your medication.

Q. How should I take Tigatel when I cross time zones? How should I carry my medicine when I travel? Will I get Tigatel abroad?

It is important to take Tigatel at prescribed interval. Plan ahead and ask your doctor to help you adjust to time zone changes. Carry Tigatel in its original packaging along with doctor’s prescription. Tigatel may be available abroad depending on your destination. But, it is advisable that you carry enough stock for yourself.

Q. How can I watch for early symptoms of suicidal thoughts and actions with Tigatel?

Q. What if I accidentally take more than the recommended dose of Tigatel?

Taking higher than the recommended doses of Tigatel may cause headache, vomiting, shaking, twitching, sleepiness, dizziness, confusion and aggressive behavior. Similarly, it may even make the person silent and withdrawn. High doses of Tigatel may even cause seizures (fits), loss of consciousness, difficulty in breathing or stopped breathing and coma. It is necessary to seek immediate medical attention or go to a nearby hospital.

Q. What if I vomit after taking Tigatel?

If vomiting has occurred within 1 hour of taking Tigatel, then you can repeat the dose. In case you vomit after an hour of taking the medicine, then it must have been absorbed and you need not take another dose. Contact your doctor in case of any queries and worries.

Q. Can phenytoin and Tigatel be taken together?

Phenytoin may interfere with the working of Tigatel. Therefore, the dose of Tigatel may have to be adjusted if both are taken together.
