Introduction of Serwal Tablet

Serwal 50 mg Tablet is a medicine used in the treatment of depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, phobia, and post-traumatic stress disorder. It helps by increasing the levels of serotonin, a chemical messenger in the brain. This improves mood and physical symptoms of the disease.

Serwal 50 mg Tablet is taken by mouth with or without food. It is advisable to take it at a fixed time each day to maintain consistent level of medicine in the blood. In case you have missed a dose, take it as soon as you remember it. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. It is important that this medication is not stopped suddenly without talking to doctor as may result in stomach upset, flu-like withdrawal symptoms and sleep disturbance.

Some common side effects of this medicine includes low sexual desire, nausea, headache, delayed ejaculation, and insomnia (difficulty in sleeping). Initially, this medicine may cause sudden drop in the blood pressure when you change positions, rise slowly if you have been sitting or lying down. It may even cause dizziness and sleepiness, do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. This medicine may cause weight gain, have a balanced diet and exercise regularly. It is important to inform doctor if you develop any unusual changes in mood as it may lead to suicidal thoughts.

Liver
CAUTION
Serwal 50 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Serwal 50 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Use of Serwal 50 mg Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease.

What if you miss a dose of Serwal Tablet?

If you miss a dose of Serwal 50 mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
