Refexo 200mg Tablet can be used alone or in combination with other medicines. It may be taken with or without food, preferably at the same time, each day. It should be used in the dose and duration as advised by the doctor. Take it at the same time each day to get the most benefit and you should keep on taking this medicine for as long as you are prescribed. Stopping it early may make the infection to come back and harder to treat.
Some people may develop side effects like vomiting, headache, constipation, vomiting, fever, abdominal pain, and nausea. These side effects are usually temporary and go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if these side effects bother you or will not go away. Your urine may become reddish in color due to this medicine. But, it is normal and harmless.
Before starting treatment with this medicine, you should tell your doctor if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or suffering from any liver, kidney or heart problems or if you are allergic to any medicine.

- You have been prescribed Refexo 200mg Tablet for the treatment of infectious diarrhea.
- It should only be taken for a maximum of three days. If your symptoms do not improve after three days, inform your doctor. Do not take a second course of Refexo 200mg Tablet.
- It may cause reddish discoloration of urine. This is normal and harmless.
- Stop taking Refexo 200mg Tablet and inform your doctor if your diarrhoea gets worse or starts to contain blood or mucus.
- Finish the full course of the medication, even if you feel better. Stopping the course early increases the risk of coming back of the infection.

Taking Refexo with any of the following medicines can modify the effect of either of them and cause some undesirable side effects

Warfarin (Oral Route)
Your doctor may frequently monitor your blood clotting time and adjust the doses of Warfarin accordingly. Rifaximin may reduce the efficacy of Warfarin.

Rucaparib (Oral Route)
If concurrent use is essential, your doctor may monitor and adjust the doses as per the observations. Rucaparib may raise blood levels of Rifaximin.
