Taking Osicare-DS with any of the following medicines can modify the effect of either of them and cause some undesirable side effects

Acenocoumarol (Oral Route)

Inform your doctor if you notice any signs of bleeding (bruising, bleeding gums, blood in stool/vomit/urine). Your doctor may monitor your blood clotting ability frequently.

Warfarin (Oral Route)

Talk to your doctor if you notice any unusual symptoms.Doctor may monitor your blood sugar level. Glucosamine may raise blood levels of the active form of Warfarin.

Mild

Gliclazide (Oral Route)

Monitor your blood glucose levels regularly and talk to your doctor if you notice any unusual symptoms during the simultaneous use of these medicines.

The evidence on the effectiveness of Osicare-DS Tablet in reducing pain is controversial. Some patients report that Osicare-DS Tablet has helped reduce arthritis pain, stiffness, and mild to moderate osteoarthritis pain. In fact, there is some evidence that Osicare-DS Tablet has beneficial effects on the cartilage by slowing down the cartilage breakdown in the joints.

Can Osicare-DS Tablet cause liver damage?

In research studies, Osicare-DS Tablet has not been found to raise the liver enzymes or cause any damage. However, there are few recent reports of liver injury while using the products containing Osicare-DS Tablet. The chances of liver injury are more if the patient has been suffering from chronic liver disease.

Is Osicare-DS Tablet bad for kidneys?

The effect of Osicare-DS Tablet on kidneys is not confirmatory. Osicare-DS Tablet is mostly metabolized and broken down by the liver. No, it is not safe to take Osicare-DS Tablet while taking blood-thinning medications like warfarin or coumadin. The reason being, this medication interacts with the blood thinners and boosts the effect of the blood-thinning medication, thereby reducing the blood’s ability to form a clot in case of bleeding episodes. Therefore, patients taking any blood-thinning medicine should consult their doctor before starting this medication.
