How to use Nitab Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Nitab 10 mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How Nitab Tablet works

Nitab 10 mg Tablet is a benzodiazepine. It works by increasing the action of a chemical messenger (GABA) which suppresses the abnormal and excessive activity of the nerve cells in the brain.

Nitab 10 mg Tablet may cause excessive drowsiness with alcohol.
Pregnancy

Nitab 10 mg Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy.
There is positive evidence of human fetal risk, but the benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk, for example in life-threatening situations. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation
CAUTION
Nitab 10 mg Tablet is probably unsafe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.
Driving
Do not drive unless you are feeling well.
Nitab 10 mg Tablet may cause side effects such as reduced alertness, confusion, tiredness, dizziness, poor muscle coordination and double vision. This may affect your ability to drive.
Kidney
CAUTION
Nitab 10 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Nitab 10 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Liver
CAUTION
Nitab 10 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Nitab 10 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Use of Nitab 10 mg Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease.

What if you miss a dose of Nitab Tablet?

If you miss a dose of Nitab 10 mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
