Product introduction

Magflux Syrup may be taken with or without food preferably at bedtime in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your doctor know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect, or be affected by this medicine. Remember you should avoid this medicine, if you have signs of appendicitis or inflamed bowel (such as lower abdominal pain, cramping, bloating, nausea, vomiting).

It is important to consult a doctor before taking this medicine if you are suffering from severe constipation, severe stomach, or kidney disease. It is an effective medicine with very little or no side effects however it may cause constipation, so it is better to take plenty of fluids while taking this medicine. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should also consult their doctor before taking this medicine.

Magflux Syrup relieves excessive acidity in your stomach which prevents heartburn and indigestion. Usually, it is used along with other medicines for management of your condition.
Continue taking it for as long as the doctor may advise you to. You need to take this medicine regularly to get the most out of it. Take a fiber-rich diet, avoid oily or spicy food and drink plenty of fluids while taking it to make sure you stay hydrated.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Magflux Syrup may be taken with or without food.

How Magflux Syrup works

Magflux Syrup is an antacid and alkalizer. It neutralizes gastric acid in the stomach thereby reducing the direct acid irritant effect. It is also known to inhibit the activity of the enzyme pepsin thereby helping with heartburn.

Quick tips

The Magflux Syrup should be used only for occasional relief from increased stomach acid. Do not take it for more than 2 weeks, unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor.
Avoid Magflux Syrup, if you show signs of appendicitis or inflammed bowel (such as lower abdominal pain, cramping, bloating, nausea, vomiting). Please consult your doctor.
Do not take the Magflux Syrup at least 2 hours before or after taking other medicines. It may interact with other medicines.

Interaction with drugs

Taking Magflux with any of the following medicines can modify the effect of either of them and cause some undesirable side effects

Severe

Raltegravir (Oral Route)

Do not consume Raltegravir with Magaldrate. If concurrent use is essential, please consult your doctor. Magaldrate may reduce blood levels of Raltegravir.

Moderate

Chloroquine (Oral Route)

Ensure a gap of at least 4 hours between taking Chloroquine and Magaldrate.

Moderate

Ursodeoxycholic Acid (Oral Route)

Ensure a gap of at least 2 hours between taking Ursodeoxycholic Acid and Magaldrate.

Moderate

Levofloxacin (Oral Route)

To take Levofloxacin, ensure a gap of at least 6 hours before or after taking Magaldrate. Magaldrate may reduce the efficacy of Levofloxacin.

Moderate

Ciprofloxacin (Oral Route)

To take Ciprofloxacin, ensure a gap of at least 6 hours before or after taking Magaldrate. Magaldrate may reduce the efficacy of Ciprofloxacin.
