Overview

Introduction

Inzofresh 10 Tablet is a prescription medicine used for short term treatment of insomnia. It reduces sleep onset time and frequent awakening at night. This medicine improves sleep maintenance and therefore ensures sound sleep.

Inzofresh 10 Tablet should be taken on an empty stomach, preferably just before going to bed. However, it is advised to take it at the same time each day as this helps to maintain a consistent level of medicine in the body. Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor as it is habit forming. Do not stop taking it suddenly without talking to your doctor as it may worsen your symptoms.

Some common side effects of this medicine include memory loss, hallucinations, agitation, headache, vertigo, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and back pain. It may also cause fatigue, stomach pain, infections in the nose and throat, double vision and depression. However, these are temporary and resolve on their own after some time. Please consult your doctor if these bother you or do not away.

Inzofresh 10 Tablet also causes dizziness and sleepiness, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you and do not take alcohol with it as it may worsen the dizziness. Inform your doctor if you develop any unusual changes in mood or behavior, new or worsening depression, hallucinations or suicidal thoughts while taking this medicine.

Before taking Inzofresh 10 Tablet, inform your doctor about all other medicines that you are taking, so that your doctor can advise if taking this medicine is right for you. Consult your doctor before taking this medicine if you are suffering from any liver or kidney problems. You should avoid smoking and alcohol while using this medicine. Pregnant and breastfeeding mothers should not use this medicine. However, if the need arises, please consult your doctor before using it.

  • Vomiting
  • Back pain

How to cope with side effects?

The occurrence of side effects varies from person to person. The following are a few ways of dealing with some of the common side effects. However, consult your doctor if these persist.

  • Coping with Memory loss
There is a lot you can do to improve your memory. Keep active and take regular exercise to improve blood flow to your whole body, including your brain. Eat a healthy diet so your brain gets the nutrients it needs. Some foods containing omega-3 fatty acids (such as oily fish) may benefit brain health. Keep mentally active. It is important to socialize, so stay in contact with friends and family. Stay organised – keep a diary for things you have to do, keep things you need regularly (such as keys, purse and spectacles) in a set place and do not try to do too many things at once. Make sure you get good sleep, make it a priority. Drinking alcohol can lead to confusion and memory loss, so try to cut down or stop. Also, stop smoking because it reduces the amount of oxygen that gets to your brain. If you are worried about memory loss, talk to your doctor, especially if it affects your ability to live your daily life.
  • Coping with Vertigo
This is usually short-lived and should go away within a few days. If this happens, stop what you are doing and sit or lie down until you feel better. Lying still in a dark, quiet room may help reduce the spinning feeling. Sleep with your head slightly raised on two or more pillows. Get up slowly from a lying or sitting position. Get plenty of rest and try to relax, as being anxious can make it worse. Try taking this medicine at bedtime to reduce the symptom. Drinking plenty of water and ginger tea may also help. Avoid alcohol, caffeine, and smoking as it will make you feel worse. Avoid driving or using tools or machinery until you feel better.
  • Coping with Vomiting
You can help yourself by eating small, frequent meals rather than large ones and drinking plenty of fluids. Eat slowly. Avoid fatty, fried, spicy and very sweet foods. Eat cold or slightly warm food if the smell of cooked or cooking food makes you feel sick. Get plenty of fresh air. You could also try chewing ginger or drinking ginger tea. Eat bananas to replace potassium in your blood which can drop if you are sick (vomit). Use oral rehydration salts to replace vitamins and minerals lost through being sick. There are some medicines that can help you stop feeling sick. Speak to your doctor if your condition does not improve.
  • Coping with Back pain
Stay as active as possible and try to continue your daily activities. Do not rest for long periods. Try exercises and stretches specifically designed for back pain. Walking, swimming, yoga and pilates may also be helpful. Taking baths with salt water after exercise may also reduce the pain. Hot or cold compression packs and gentle back massage can give short-term relief. Take anti-inflammatory painkillers if you need to. Back pain normally gets better on its own but if it is severe or lasts more than a couple of weeks, you should see a doctor.

How to use Inzofresh Tablet

Psychiatry
Sleep disturbance is often a manifestation of underlying psychological disorder. Based on your clinical history, your doctor plans the type of medicine and it's dose and duration. For first episode of anxiety/ depression/ panic, the usual maintenance phase is 6 months of asymptomatic period, after which medicines can be gradually tapered. But treatment may need to continue longer depending on severity and frequency of episodes. To take any decision to change medication or stop them, several factors have to be taken in account for which regular follow up with your psychiatrist is important. For second opinion, seek a proper consultation with another psychiatrist and take along your previous prescriptions.
