The most common side effects include headache, stomach cramps, irregular vaginal bleeding or spotting, fluid retention, and nausea. Your doctor may be able to help you reduce or prevent side effects if they bother you or do not go away. Very occasionally, people get a severe allergic reaction that needs urgent medical attention.

Using this medicine may increase your risk of blood clots or breast cancer. Gestofert 200mg Tablet SR may not suit everybody, and you should tell your doctor if you have, or have had, breast cancer, unusual bleeding in the vagina, or liver disease. You may be monitored more carefully if you have liver, kidney, or heart problems or have diabetes or asthma.

Taking Gestofert with any of the following medicines can modify the effect of either of them and cause some undesirable side effects

Mycophenolate mofetil (Oral Route)

Effective contraception must be used before, during, and for at least 6 weeks after stopping Mycophenolate mofetil. It is recommended to consult your doctor. Mycophenolate mofetil may reduce the efficacy of Progesterone.
