How to use Fevridol Syrup

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Fevridol 120 mg/5ml Syrup is to be taken with food.

How Fevridol Syrup works

Fevridol 120 mg/5ml Syrup is an analgesic (pain reliever) and anti-pyretic (fever reducer). It works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain and fever.

Alcohol
UNSAFE
It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Fevridol 120 mg/5ml Syrup Taking Paracetamol/Acetaminophen with alcohol can cause liver damage.
Pregnancy
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED
Fevridol 120 mg/5ml Syrup is safe to use during pregnancy. Most studies have shown low or no risk to the developing baby.
Lactation
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED
Fevridol 120 mg/5ml Syrup is safe to use during breastfeeding. Human studies suggest that the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in a significant amount and is not harmful to the baby.
Driving
SAFE
Fevridol 120 mg/5ml Syrup does not usually affect your ability to drive.
Kidney
CAUTION
Fevridol 120 mg/5ml Syrup should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Fevridol 120 mg/5ml Syrup may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
However, Fevridol 120 mg/5ml Syrup contains paracetamol which is considered the safest painkiller for kidney disease patients.
Liver
CAUTION
Fevridol 120 mg/5ml Syrup should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Fevridol 120 mg/5ml Syrup may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
However, the use of Fevridol 120 mg/5ml Syrup is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease and active liver disease.

FAQs

Q. What if my child vomits after taking Fevridol?

If your child vomits in less than 30 minutes after having a dose of Fevridol tablets or syrup, give him/her the same dose again. If your child vomits more than 30 minutes after a dose of tablets or syrup, you do not need to give him/her another dose, until the next normal dose.

Q. When will my child feel better after taking Fevridol?

Usually your child will feel better after about half an hour of taking Fevridol.

Q. How often can I give Fevridol to my child?

You should only give four doses of Fevridol in 24 hours. There should be a gap of at least 4 hours between two doses. Do not give Fevridol for more than 3 days to your child without first talking to your doctor.

Q. Can I give Fevridol syrup to my child for cold?

Fevridol along with relieving fever also helps in controlling problems associated with cold such as headache and earache associated with cold. However, it does help relieve stuffy nose and cough for which doctor’s advice is required.

Q. Does Fevridol make babies sleepy?

No, Fevridol does not make babies sleepy, contrary to the common belief.

Q. Is Fevridol safe for children?

If used as directed by the physician, Fevridol is safe for children.

Q. Is Fevridol an antibiotic?

No, Fevridol is not an antibiotic. It works as a painkiller and as a medicine which brings down high fever.

Q. Can I give my child Fevridol and ibuprofen together?

Ibuprofen and Fevridol are safe painkillers which can be given to children, though both should not be used together. Instead, if you have given your child Fevridol and still he/she is feverish or in pain you could try ibuprofen instead, when the next dose is due.
