Dothitab 50mg Tablet is used in the treatment of depression, neuropathic pain and anxiety disorder.
It is used in patients intolerant of or unresponsive to alternative treatment options for depression.

How to use Dothitab Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. It can be taken with or without food, but it is better to take Dothitab 50mg Tablet at a fixed time.

Expert advice for Dothitab Tablet

  • The main dose should be taken at night as this drug may produce drowsiness or sleepiness.
  • It can take 4 to 6 weeks for Dothitab to start working.
  • You should continue the treatment for at least 6 months after you feel better to stop depression from coming back.
  • If your doctor asks you to stop Dothitab, you should reduce the dose slowly over 4 weeks. You should not discontinue it abruptly.
  • Avoid driving or operating machinery as it may decrease alertness.

Q. What is the difference between Dothitab and amitriptyline?
Dothitab is chemically related to Amitriptyline and both are tricyclic antidepressant (TCA) medicine. There is overlap in pharmacological property of this medicine.
Q. Is Dothitab the same as doxepin?
Dothitab and doxepin are different medicines but belong to the similar chemical class. Doxepin, at low doses, can improve sleep in patients with insomnia. It is also available in the topical form for use in various neuro-dermatitis syndrome, especially itching.
