Doth 25mg Tablet is used in the treatment of depression, neuropathic pain and anxiety disorder. It is used in patients intolerant of or unresponsive to alternative treatment options for depression.

How to use Doth Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Doth 25mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Doth 25mg Tablet increases the levels of chemical messengers in the brain that help in regulating the mood and treat depression.

Expert advice for Doth Tablet

  • The main dose should be taken at night as this drug may produce drowsiness or sleepiness.
  • It can take 4 to 6 weeks for Doth to start working.
  • You should continue the treatment for at least 6 months after you feel better to stop depression from coming back.
  • If your doctor asks you to stop Doth, you should reduce the dose slowly over 4 weeks. You should not discontinue it abruptly.
  • Avoid driving or operating machinery as it may decrease alertness.
  • Avoid consuming alcohol when taking the Doth, as it may cause excessive drowsiness and calmness.
  • The addiction/dependence potential of Doth is very less.
  • It may be extremely dangerous in overdose.

Driving
It is not known whether Doth 25mg Tablet alters the ability to drive. Do not drive if you experience any symptoms that affect your ability to concentrate and react.
Kidney
There is limited information available on the use of Doth 25mg Tablet in patients with kidney disease. Please consult your doctor.

If you miss a dose of Doth 25mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Q. What is the difference between Doth and amitriptyline?
Doth is chemically related to Amitriptyline and both are tricyclic antidepressant (TCA) medicine. There is overlap in pharmacological property of this medicine.
Q. Is Doth the same as doxepin?
Doth and doxepin are different medicines but belong to the similar chemical class. Doxepin, at low doses, can improve sleep in patients with insomnia. It is also available in the topical form for use in various neuro-dermatitis syndrome, especially itching.

No. Citalopram and Doth both are the antidepressant. Citalopram may increase the high blood level of Doth. This may lead to a life-threatening or dangerous side effect of hyperthermia, seizure, arrhythmia, tachycardia, orthostatic hypotension or sudden death.

No. Sertraline and Doth both are the anti-depressant. Sertraline may increase the high blood level of Doth. This may lead to a life-threatening or dangerous side effect of hyperthermia, seizure, arrhythmia, tachycardia, orthostatic hypotension or sudden death.
Q. Can I take Doth with diazepam?
It is better to avoid this combination. Diazepam is a sedative drug and Doth may cause sedation as a side effect too. Taking both of them together can increase the drowsiness or sleepiness. Inform your doctor if you are taking diazepam.
