Introduction of Babymol Tablet

Babymol 650 mg Tablet is a medicine used to relieve pain and to reduce high temperature and fever. It is used to treat many conditions such as headache, period pain, toothache, colds, and fevers. It is also an ingredient in many cold and flu remedies.

Babymol 650 mg Tablet may be prescribed alone or in combination with another medicine. You should take it regularly as advised by your doctor. It is usually best taken with food otherwise it may upset your stomach. Do not take more or use it for longer than recommended.

It very rarely causes side effects if it is used correctly but this medicine may cause stomach pain, nausea, and vomiting in some people. Consult your doctor if any of these side effects bother you or do not go away.

This medicine is widely prescribed and considered safe but is not suitable for everybody. Before taking it, let your doctor know if you have liver or kidney problems or are using blood-thinning medicines or drink a lot of alcohol. It may affect the dose or suitability of this medicine. Let your doctor know about all the other medicines you are taking because they may affect, or be affected by, this medicine. This medicine is generally considered safe for use by pregnant or breastfeeding women if it has been prescribed by a doctor. It is best to avoid drinking alcohol while using this medicine.

How to use Babymol Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Babymol 650 mg Tablet is to be taken with food.

How Babymol Tablet works

Babymol 650 mg Tablet is an analgesic (pain reliever) and anti-pyretic (fever reducer). It works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain and fever.

Pregnancy

Babymol 650 mg Tablet is safe to use during pregnancy. Most studies have shown low or no risk to the developing baby.
Lactation
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED
Babymol 650 mg Tablet is safe to use during breastfeeding. Human studies suggest that the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in a significant amount and is not harmful to the baby.
Driving
SAFE
Babymol 650 mg Tablet does not usually affect your ability to drive.
Kidney
CAUTION
Babymol 650 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Babymol 650 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
However, Babymol 650 mg Tablet contains paracetamol which is considered the safest painkiller for kidney disease patients.
Liver
CAUTION
Babymol 650 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Babymol 650 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
However, the use of Babymol 650 mg Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease and active liver disease.

Q. What if my child vomits after taking Babymol?

If your child vomits in less than 30 minutes after having a dose of Babymol tablets or syrup, give him/her the same dose again. If your child vomits more than 30 minutes after a dose of tablets or syrup, you do not need to give him/her another dose, until the next normal dose.

Q. When will my child feel better after taking Babymol?

Usually your child will feel better after about half an hour of taking Babymol.

Q. How often can I give Babymol to my child?

You should only give four doses of Babymol in 24 hours. There should be a gap of at least 4 hours between two doses. Do not give Babymol for more than 3 days to your child without first talking to your doctor.

Q. Can I give Babymol syrup to my child for cold?

Babymol along with relieving fever also helps in controlling problems associated with cold such as headache and earache associated with cold. However, it does help relieve stuffy nose and cough for which doctor’s advice is required.

Q. Does Babymol make babies sleepy?

No, Babymol does not make babies sleepy, contrary to the common belief.

Q. Is Babymol safe for children?

If used as directed by the physician, Babymol is safe for children.

Q. Is Babymol an antibiotic?

No, Babymol is not an antibiotic. It works as a painkiller and as a medicine which brings down high fever.

Q. Can I give my child Babymol and ibuprofen together?

Ibuprofen and Babymol are safe painkillers which can be given to children, though both should not be used together. Instead, if you have given your child Babymol and still he/she is feverish or in pain you could try ibuprofen instead, when the next dose is due.
