Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Aricep 10 mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Memory loss in Alzheimer’s disease occurs due to disturbances of signal transmission in the brain. Aricep 10 mg Tablet is a cholinesterase inhibitor. It works by increasing the levels of a chemical messenger (acetylcholine) involved in transmmission of nerve signals. This improves memory and thinking.
Do not take donepezil hydrochloride, if you are allergic to donepezil hydrochloride or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
Avoid using donepezil hydrochloride, if you are breastfeeding.
Doctor’s advice should be considered in case of patients with following history of disease conditions: stomach or duodenal ulcers; seizures (fits) or convulsions; heart condition (irregular or very slow heart beat); asthma or other long term lung disease; liver problems or hepatitis; urine or mild kidney disease.

Donepezil hydrochloride is not intended for use in children and adolescents younger than 18 years.
Donepezil hydrochloride should not be taken with alcohol because alcohol may change its effect.

Aricep 10 mg Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Aricep 10 mg Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
