Uses of AC Tablet
AC 50 mg Tablet is used in the treatment of type 2 diabetes. It is used in addition to diet and exercise to improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes.

How to use AC Tablet
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. AC 50 mg Tablet is to be taken with food.
How AC Tablet works
AC 50 mg Tablet is an anti-diabetic medication. It works by slowing down the digestion and absorption of glucose in the small intestine. This prevents blood glucose from rising very high after meals.
AC Tablet related warnings
Alcohol
CAUTION
Taking acarbose with alcohol may affect blood glucose levels in patients with diabetes.
Pregnancy
PROBABLY SAFE
AC 50 mg Tablet is probably safe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effect on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation
AC 50 mg Tablet is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
Driving
SAFE
AC 50 mg Tablet does not usually affect your ability to drive.
Kidney
CAUTION
AC 50 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of AC 50 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Use of AC 50 mg Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease.
Liver
CAUTION
AC 50 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of AC 50 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Use of AC 50 mg Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease.
What if you miss a dose of AC Tablet?
If you miss a dose of AC 50 mg Tablet, skip it and continue with your normal schedule. Do not double the dose.
