Product introduction

Urolyte Injection is administered under the supervision of a doctor. Your doctor will decide the dose and duration of the medicine for you. The doctor may closely monitor your condition until you become stable.

Use of this medicine may cause nausea, vomiting, injection site bleeding, allergic reaction, and a decrease in blood pressure. It may increase your risk of bleeding also. Your doctor will explain the benefits and risks associated with this medicine before it is administered. You should continue all your other medicines that are advised by the doctor for your long-term treatment even after this injection.

This medicine is used with caution for some people. Thus, you must inform the doctor if you are suffering from any bleeding disorder, kidney, or liver disease. Also, let your doctor know if you are pregnant or breastfeeding and about all the other medications that you are taking regularly.

Quick tips

  • It increases your risk of bleeding. Be careful while shaving, cutting fingernails or toenails, using sharp objects or engaging in contact sports (e.g. football, wrestling).
  • Do not discontinue use without consulting your doctor as this may increase your chances of having another heart attack or stroke.
  • Urolyte Injection helps break down blood clots in blood vessels, thereby treating conditions such as heart attack, pulmonary embolism, and stroke.
  • It should be given as soon as possible (within 12 hours) after the onset of a heart attack.
  • It is usually given by your nurse or doctor as an infusion (drip) into a vein.
  • It increases your risk of bleeding. Be careful while shaving, cutting fingernails or toenails, using sharp objects or engaging in contact sports (e.g. football, wrestling).
  • Do not discontinue use without consulting your doctor as this may increase your chances of having another heart attack or stroke.

Interaction with drugs

Taking Urolyte with any of the following medicines can modify the effect of either of them and cause some undesirable side effects
Severe

Streptokinase (Injection Route)

Do not consume Streptokinase with Urokinase. If Streptokinase is essential, ensure a gap of At least 5 days between taking Streptokinase and Urokinase. Please consult your doctor. Urokinase may reduce the efficacy of Streptokinase.

Cilostazol (Oral Route)

Inform your doctor if you notice any signs of bleeding (bruising, bleeding gums, blood in stool/vomit/urine).

Apixaban (Oral Route)

Do not consume Apixaban with Urokinase. If concurrent use is essential, watch out for bleeding and consult your doctor immediately. Urokinase may increase the effect of Apixaban.
