How to use Ulciban Tablet
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Ulciban 400 mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
How Ulciban Tablet works
Ulciban 400 mg Tablet is a H2 blocker (antacid). It works by reducing the amount of acid in the stomach which helps in relief of acid related indigestion and heartburn.
Ulciban Tablet related warnings
It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Ulciban 400 mg Tablet Alcohol use can increase acid secretion, acid reflux in food pipe causing heartburn and decreasing effect of this drug. Also, Cimetidine can decrease alcohol breakdown and increase its level in blood.
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED
Ulciban 400 mg Tablet is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.

Ulciban 400 mg Tablet is safe to use during breastfeeding. Human studies suggest that the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in a significant amount and is not harmful to the baby.

What if you miss a dose of Ulciban Tablet?
If you miss a dose of Ulciban 400 mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

- Avoid taking soft drinks, citrus fruits like orange and lemon, which can irritate the stomach and increase acid secretion.
- Inform your doctor if you do not feel better after taking Ulciban 400 mg Tablet for two weeks or 14 days as you may be suffering from some other problems.
- Inform your doctor if you have ever been diagnosed with kidney disease. Dose of your medicine may need to be adjusted.

Ulciban causes gynecomastia (enlarged breasts of males) by decreasing the male hormone (testosterone) levels and blocking the receptors on the target tissue on which testosterone acts. However, the breast enlargement would go away once you stop taking this medicine.
Q. Can I take Ulciban with loperamide?
Ulciban can decrease the metabolism of loperamide, increase its blood levels and hence, increase its effects and side effects. Your dose of loperamide may needs to be decreased. Consult your doctor prior to taking both the drugs together.

Headache, dizziness, somnolence, gynecomastia, impotence, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting are some of the side effects reported with the use of Ulciban injection.
