Typhibev Vaccine is administered by a doctor or a nurse. You should not be self-administered this vaccine at home. Typhibev Vaccine works by causing the body to produce its own protection (antibodies) against the bacteria. This vaccine is generally recommended for individuals who are traveling to areas where typhoid fever is common. However, while traveling, it is important that you avoid contaminated food or water. Typhibev Vaccine is given as an injection into a muscle by a doctor or a nurse, as a single dose, approximately 2 weeks before travelling to such an area where typhoid fever is common.

Taking Typhibev with any of the following medicines can modify the effect of either of them and cause some undesirable side effects

Life-threatening

Estramustine (Oral Route)

Concurrent use must be avoided. Please consult with your doctor regarding appropriate interval between Estramustine and Purified Vi Polysaccharide Typhoid Vaccine.

Severe

Dexamethasone (Oral Route)

It is recommended to wait at least 3 months after discontinuing a high dose of Dexamethasone before taking Purified Vi Polysaccharide Typhoid Vaccine.

Severe

Lomustine (Oral Route)

Do not use Lomustine with Purified Vi Polysaccharide Typhoid Vaccine. If Lomustine is essential, ensure a gap of At least 6 months after discontinuing Purified Vi Polysaccharide Typhoid Vaccine. Please consult your doctor. Lomustine may reduce efficacy of Purified Vi Polysaccharide Typhoid Vaccine.

Severe

Deflazacort (Oral Route)

It is recommended to wait at least 3 months after discontinuing a high dose of Deflazacort before taking Purified Vi Polysaccharide Typhoid Vaccine.

Methylprednisolone (Oral Route)

It is recommended to wait at least 3 months after discontinuing a high dose of Methylprednisolone before taking Purified Vi Polysaccharide Typhoid Vaccine.
