Gemfibrozil(600 mg)


Triglyd 600mg tablet along with diet and exercise is used for the treatment of high levels of triglycerides (type of fat) in the blood.

How it works

Triglyd 600mg tablet belongs to a class of drugs called fibrates. It works by stimulating the breakdown of fats and inhibiting production of bad cholesterol (LDL) in the liver. It also increases the levels of good cholesterol (HDL).

  • Take gemfibrozil half an hour before meals.
  • Stop the use of gemfibrozil if you develop gallstones.
  • It is advisable to monitor the levels of serum lipids, liver enzymes and blood counts at regular intervals.
  • Do not use Gemfibrozil if you observe any symptoms of muscle damage.
  • Tell your doctor if you are or planning to become pregnant or are breastfeeding.
