Tigemac 90 Tablet is also used to treat people with a recent heart attack or severe heart-related chest pain (unstable angina) who have undergone stenting of the heart. It helps to prevent serious heart-related problems like having another heart attack, stroke, or formation of blood clots in stents in such people.

Your doctor will also prescribe aspirin, another antiplatelet medicine, along with this medicine. Tigemac 90 Tablet may be taken with or without food and should be taken regularly at the same time each day. It is important to keep taking it even if you feel well. If you stop taking this medicine, it may increase your chances of having another heart attack or stroke.

The most common side effects of this medicine are dyspnea (breathlessness) and bleeding. If you cut or injure yourself, it may take longer than usual for the bleeding to stop. Such episodes of bleeding are usually mild and resolve on their own. Mild breathlessness caused by this medicine usually resolves on its own with continued treatment. Let your doctor know if bleeding persists or if the breathlessness worsens or does not go away.

Tigemac 90 Tablet is not suitable for some people. Do not take it if you are bleeding from anywhere in the body, such as a stomach ulcer or bleeding within the brain. It is also not recommended for people with liver diseases. Before using the medicine, inform your doctor of any such problems.

To achieve maximum benefits, take this medicine regularly and make appropriate lifestyle changes. It is often prescribed with a low dose of aspirin, which also helps prevent blood from clotting.

Driving

UNSAFE

Tigemac 90 Tablet may decrease alertness, affect your vision, or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.
Dizziness, confusion, vertigo, and syncope have been reported in some patients. If you experience such symptoms, be cautious while driving or using machines.

Kidney

CAUTION

Tigemac 90 Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment may be needed.
Limited information is available on the use of Tigemac 90 Tablet in renal dialysis patients.

Liver

SAFE IF PRESCRIBED

Tigemac 90 Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data suggest dose adjustment may not be needed.
Use of Tigemac 90 Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease.

Interaction with drugs

Taking Tigemac with any of the following medicines can modify the effect of either of them and cause some undesirable side effects

Do not consume Ticagrelor with Atazanavir. Atazanavir may raise blood levels of Ticagrelor.

Carbamazepine (Oral Route)

Do not consume Ticagrelor with Carbamazepine. Carbamazepine may reduce blood levels of Ticagrelor.

Citalopram (Oral Route)

If concurrent use is essential, watch out for bleeding and consult with your doctor immediately.

Clarithromycin (Oral Route)

Do not consume Ticagrelor with Clarithromycin. Clarithromycin may raise blood levels of Ticagrelor.

Your doctor may instruct you to stop taking Tigemac 90 Tablet 5 days before surgery. This will help decrease your risk of excessive bleeding during surgery or procedure. Your doctor will advise you when to start taking Tigemac 90 Tablet again.

How long does Tigemac 90 Tablet take to work?

Tigemac 90 Tablet starts working within 30 minutes of taking your first dose. You may not feel any different after you start taking Tigemac 90 Tablet, but this does not mean that the medicine is not working. Keep taking this medicine even if you feel well, as you will still be getting its benefits.
