Product introduction

Ticfree Tablet should be taken with or without food. However, it is advised to take it at the same time each day, as this helps maintain a consistent level of medicine in the body. Take this in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. This medication must not be stopped suddenly without talking to your doctor, as it may worsen your symptoms.


Some common side effects of this medicine include nausea, insomnia (difficulty sleeping), anxiety, fatigue, akathisia (restlessness and inability to stay still), and depression. It also causes dizziness and sleepiness, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. Inform your doctor if you develop any unusual changes in mood or behavior, new or worsening depression, or suicidal thoughts while taking this medicine.


Stop taking this medicine immediately if you have a fever, stiff muscles, confusion, or seizures (signs of neuroleptic malignant syndrome). Let your doctor know if you have any medical conditions. Let your doctor also know about all the medications you are taking, as some medicines may interact with Ticfree Tablet. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before taking Ticfree Tablet to ensure safety.

  • Be cautious while driving or doing anything that requires concentration, as Ticfree Tablet can cause dizziness and sleepiness.
  • Inform your doctor if you experience high fever, sweating, muscle stiffness, and faster breathing. These may be due to a rare side effect known as neuroleptic malignant syndrome.
  • Inform your doctor if you develop any unusual changes in mood or behavior, new or worsening depression, or suicidal thoughts or behavior.
  • Do not stop taking Ticfree Tablet without talking to your doctor first, as it may cause worsening of symptoms.

Ticfree Tablet is not an antipsychotic. It belongs to the vesicular monoamine transporter 2 (VMAT2) inhibitor class of medicines. It works by changing the activity of some natural substances in the brain that affect muscles and nerves.
Ticfree Tablet may increase the risk of depression or suicidal thoughts in patients with Huntington’s disease. Huntington’s disease is an inherited disease that causes the progressive breakdown of nerve cells in the brain. Therefore, you should not take Ticfree Tablet if you have Huntington’s disease along with depression.
Sleepiness is a common side effect of Ticfree Tablet. Therefore, you should avoid driving or operating heavy machinery if you feel sleepy while taking Ticfree Tablet.
No, you should not stop taking Ticfree Tablet suddenly, without talking to your doctor. Sudden discontinuation of the medicine may cause neuroleptic malignant syndrome. This can be characterized by high fever, stiff muscles, confusion, hallucinations, increased sweating, and very fast or uneven heartbeat. Hence, to avoid such side effects, your doctor will gradually reduce your dose.
You should avoid alcohol since it may add to the sleepiness caused by Ticfree Tablet. Similarly, you should avoid taking medicines that cause sleepiness. If you are not sure about the effects of the medicine, consult with your doctor.
Yes, Ticfree Tablet may affect blood pressure. In some patients, it may lower blood pressure. Along with that, one may experience dizziness, lightheadedness, and fainting while getting up quickly from a lying position (orthostatic hypotension). To avoid this problem, get out of bed slowly and rest your feet on the floor for a few minutes before standing up.
