How Sayana Press Injection works
Sayana Press 104 mg Injection is a progestin (female hormone). It works to prevent pregnancy by temporarily stopping the release of an egg from the ovary, or preventing fertilization (union) of the egg by sperm . It may also alter lining of the uterus (womb) to stop a fertilized egg from attaching to the uterus.

Pregnancy
CAUTION
Sayana Press 104 mg Injection is highly unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Human and animal studies have shown significant adverse effects on the foetus. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation
SAFE
Sayana Press 104 mg Injection is safe to use during lactation. Human studies have shown that either the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in significant amount or is not expected to cause toxicity to the baby.
Nonhormonal contraceptives are preferred in breastfeeding women, especially during the first 4 weeks postpartum
Driving
Sayana Press 104 mg Injection may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Kidney
There is limited information available on the use of Sayana Press 104 mg Injection in patients with kidney disease. Please consult your doctor.
Liver
UNSAFE

  • Swallow each tablet whole. Take your tablets at the same time each day. Treatment may be required for 8 to 10 weeks before any effect can be found.
  • Do not take medroxyprogesterone If you are hypersensitive (allergic) to medroxyprogesterone or other similar hormone  medicines or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
  • Avoid smoking while you are taking this medicine. Smoking greatly increases your risk of blood clots.
  • This medicine can pass into body fluids (including urine, feces, vomit, semen, vaginal fluid). Patients and caregivers should wear rubber gloves while cleaning up body fluids, handling contaminated trash or laundry or changing diapers. Wash hands before and after removing gloves. Wash soiled clothing and linens separately from other laundry.
  • Body fluids should not be handled by a woman who is pregnant or who may become pregnant. Use condoms during sexual activity to avoid exposure to body fluids.
  • Avoid becoming pregnant while being treated with medroxyprogesterone.

you can take an I pill within 72 hrs on ur act. but u ve to remember it is only 90% effective. no medication is 100% effective. and u can not take I pills more den once as it is high dose progesterone and repeated doses causes cycle disturbances and unpredictable ovulation and increases chancea of unwanted pregnancy so please shift to a permanant method of contraception.
