Product introduction

Rositaz 4mg Tablet may be used by itself or along with other medicines. It may be taken with or without food. Take it regularly at the same time each day to get the most benefit. Your doctor will decide what dose is best for you and this may change from time to time according to how it is working.

Keep taking this medicine, even if you feel well or your blood sugar levels are controlled. If you stop it without consulting your doctor, your blood sugar levels could rise and put you at risk of kidney damage, blindness, nerve problems, and loss of limbs. Remember that it is only part of a treatment program that should also include a healthy diet, regular exercise, and weight reduction as advised by your doctor. Your lifestyle plays a big part in controlling diabetes.

The most common side effects of taking this medicine include blurred vision, numbness, and bone fracture. Please consult your doctor if these bother you or persist for a longer duration.

You should not take it if you have type 1 diabetes mellitus, if you have diabetic ketoacidosis (high levels of acid in your blood), or if you have severe kidney or liver disease. Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have ever had heart disease, thyroid disease, or some hormonal conditions. It may not be suitable. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should also consult their doctor before taking it. Your blood sugar levels should be checked regularly and your doctor may also advise blood tests to monitor your blood cell counts and liver function.

Interaction with drugs

Taking Rositaz with any of the following medicines can modify the effect of either of them and cause some undesirable side effects
Severe

Disopyramide (Oral Route)

If concurrent use is essential, watch out for symptoms such as confusion, headache, nausea, dizziness or faintness and consult your doctor if you experience them.

Human insulin (Injection Route)

Do not consume Rosiglitazone with Human insulin.
Moderate

Clopidogrel (Oral Route)

If concurrent use is essential, watch out for symptoms such as confusion, headache, nausea, dizziness or faintness and consult your doctor if you experience them. They may adjust the doses as per the observations. Clopidogrel may raise blood levels of Rosiglitazone.

Asparaginase (Injection Route)

Your doctor may monitor your diabetic control closely and adjust the doses as per the observations.

Saxagliptin (Oral Route)

Talk to your doctor if you notice any unusual symptoms.Doctor may monitor your blood sugar level. Rosiglitazone may raise blood levels of the active form of Saxagliptin.

Rositaz 4mg Tablet when added to Glimepiride in patients with diabetes mellitus, has been found to significantly reduce plasma lipid levels and significant improvement in blood glucose control related to a reduction in the insulin resistance.
Rositaz 4mg Tablet is an anti-diabetes drug used along with a proper diet and exercise program to control high blood sugar in patients with type 2 diabetes. Pioglitazone acts as an insulin sensitizer and decreases the extent of insulin resistance in the body too.
Rositaz 4mg Tablet increases the permeability of fluid in tiny blood vessels called capillaries. This results in easier movement of fluids across the membrane and their consequent accumulation, resulting in oedema (puffiness). Also, Pioglitazone causes increased sodium and water reabsorption from the kidney that contributes to the oedema.
Rositaz 4mg Tablet can cause fluid retention and edema. Consequently, there is a lot of fluid in the body (fluid overload). As a result, it may precipitate heart failure (which worsens with fluid overload in those at risk).
Rositaz 4mg Tablet, either alone or as add-on therapy to conventional treatments, could clinically benefit patients of major depression according to a study
