Overview

Introduction

ROKO Capsule is used in the treatment of diarrhea. It should not be used in patients with dysentery (diarrhea with blood).


You may take ROKO Capsule with or without food. But, you should always take it in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. In case you have missed any dose than it is better to take it as soon as you remember it. But, never double your dose. You should finish the full course of treatment to achieve best results. Remember, diarrhea can cause water loss and electrolyte imbalance, so drink plenty of fluids also to help keep yourself hydrated. It is important to avoid this medicine if you have blood in your stool or if you are severely constipated.

Dizziness may occur, as a side effect of this medicine so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus.

How to use ROKO Capsule

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Do not chew, crush or break it. ROKO Capsule may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How ROKO Capsule works

ROKO Capsule is an anti-diarrhoeal medication. It works by slowing down the contraction of the intestines thereby decreasing the speed at which the contents pass through it. This allows more time for reabsorption of fluids and nutrients, making the stools more solid and less frequent.

Pregnancy

ROKO Capsule may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.
Breastfeeding
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED
ROKO Capsule is safe to use during breastfeeding. Human studies suggest that the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in a significant amount and is not harmful to the baby.
Driving
UNSAFE
ROKO Capsule may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.
Kidney
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED
ROKO Capsule is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of ROKO Capsule is recommended.
However, inform your doctor if you have any underlying kidney disease.
Liver
CAUTION
ROKO Capsule should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of ROKO Capsule may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

Hello, please start syp zinconia 5ml once daily for the next 14 days. Also darolac sachet half sachet orally twice daily for the next 5 days. Also give ors, coconut water and lemon water.Do not give roko capsule as it can worsen the condition.

ROKO may be taken simultaneously with antibiotics, paracetamol, ibuprofen, omiprazole or ciprofloxacin. ROKO might interact with desmopressin, ritonavir, quinidine or cotrimoxazole. Please consult your doctor before use

Q. Does ROKO help in opiate withdrawal?

ROKO is used in higher doses as a part of opiate withdrawal process. However, do consult your doctor regarding the same.

Q. Is ROKO addictive?

No, ROKO is a safe and non-addictive anti-diarrheal drug.

Q. Can ROKO be used for stomach cramps, nausea, stomach flu, rota virus diarrhea and gas?

ROKO may benefit few cases of stomach cramps or nausea associated with diarrhea. It is sometimes used for stomach flu, rota virus diarrhea. It is not used for gas. Please consult your doctor before taking the drug.

Q. Can I take ROKO with cimetidine?

Cimetidine can decrease the metabolism of ROKO, increase its blood levels and hence, increase its effects and side effects. Your dose of ROKO may needs to be decreased. Consult your doctor prior to taking both the drugs together.
