Regonat Tablet should be taken with food, but try to have it at the same time every day to get the most benefits. Your doctor will decide what dose is necessary and how often you need to take it. This will depend on what you are being treated for and may change from time to time. You should take it exactly as your doctor has advised. Taking it in the wrong way or taking too much can cause very serious side effects. It may take several weeks or months for you to see or feel the benefits but do not stop taking it unless your doctor tells you to.

The most common side effects of this medicine include infection, decreased appetite, hemorrhage, and high blood pressure. It can also cause voice change, diarrhea, stomatitis, vomiting, nausea, bilirubin in urine, increased liver enzyme, rash, weakness, pain, fever, mucosal inflammation, and weight loss. If any of these side effects bother you, let your doctor know. Regular blood tests are required to check your blood cells along with liver functioning.

Many other medicines can affect, or be affected by, this medicine so let your healthcare team know all medications you are using. This medicine is not recommended during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. The use of effective contraception by both males and females during treatment is important to avoid pregnancy.

Cancer of colon and rectum
Cancer of the colon and rectum, also known as colorectal cancer (CRC) or bowel cancer, is the development of cancer from two parts of the large intestine, namely, the colon or rectum. In this type of cancer, the person may notice symptoms such as blood in the stool, a change in bowel movements, weight loss, and fatigue. Regonat Tablet treats and also lowers the risk of developing further cancerous growths (polyps) and bowel cancer. It kills or stops the growth of cancer cells and also prevents the multiplication of cancer cells. It is an effective, yet very toxic medicine and you should discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. Avoid drinking alcohol or smoking while having this treatment and drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.

Regonat Tablet is used in the treatment of cancers of colon and rectum.
Diarrhea may occur as a side effect. Drink plenty of fluids and inform your doctor if it doesn't stop or if you find blood in your stools.
Use a reliable contraceptive method to prevent pregnancy while you are taking this medicine and for a month after you stop taking it.
Monitor your blood pressure regularly while taking this medication. Inform your doctor if you notice symptoms of very high blood pressure such as severe headache, confusion, problems with your eyesight, nausea or vomiting.
It may cause serious bleeding problem. Inform your doctor if you get headaches, stomach pain or if you notice blood in your urine or stools.
Do not take this medicine if you are pregnant, planning to conceive or breastfeeding.
Take it with food, preferably at the same time each day.

Regonat Tablet may be unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby. It should be used only if the expected benefit outweighs the potential risk. Please consult your doctor.

Driving

UNSAFE

Regonat Tablet may decrease alertness, affect your vision, or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.

Kidney

CAUTION

Regonat Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment may be needed.
However, limited information is available on use of Regonat Tablet in patients with severe kidney disease.

Liver

SAFE IF PRESCRIBED

Regonat Tablet is safe to use in patients with liver disease. No dose adjustment is recommended.
Regular monitoring of liver function tests is advised while you are taking this medicine. Use of Regonat Tablet is not recommended in patients with the severe liver disease.

Interaction with drugs

Taking Regonat with any of the following medicines can modify the effect of either of them and cause some undesirable side effects

Acenocoumarol (Oral Route)

If concurrent use is essential, watch out for bleeding and consult your doctor immediately. Your doctor may frequently monitor your blood clotting time.

Bosentan (Oral Route)

Do not consume Regorafenib with Bosentan. Bosentan may reduce blood levels of Regorafenib.

Carbamazepine (Oral Route)

Do not consume Regorafenib with Carbamazepine. Carbamazepine may reduce blood levels of Regorafenib.

Dabrafenib (Oral Route)

Do not consume Regorafenib with Dabrafenib. Dabrafenib may reduce blood levels of Regorafenib.

Efavirenz (Oral Route)

Do not consume Regorafenib with Efavirenz. Efavirenz may reduce blood levels of Regorafenib.
