Ramizen 5mg Tablet may be prescribed either alone or in combination with other medicines. It can be taken with or without food. This medicine should preferably be taken at the same time each day to get the maximum benefit. It is important to continue taking it regularly, even if you feel well or even if your blood pressure is controlled.


Most people with high blood pressure do not feel any symptoms, but if you stop taking this medicine, your condition could get worse. This is a widely used medicine and is considered safe for long-term use. Making some changes in your lifestyle will also help lower your blood pressure. These may include regular exercise, losing weight, not smoking, reducing alcohol intake, and reducing the amount of salt in your diet as advised by your doctor.


The most common side effects of this medicine include feeling dry cough, headache, and fatigue. Most of these are temporary and resolve with time. Talk to your doctor if any of the side effects bother you or do not go away.

Interaction with drugs

Taking Ramizen with any of the following medicines can modify the effect of either of them and cause some undesirable side effects
Severe

Co-trimoxazole (Oral Route)

Do not consume Ramipril with Co-trimoxazole. If concurrent use is essential, please consult your doctor. They may monitor your potassium levels closely.

Eplerenone (Oral Route)

If concurrent use is essential, watch out for symptoms such as muscle weakness, fatigue, cramps, nausea, vomiting, tingling, numbness or irregular heartbeat and consult your doctor if you experience them. They may also monitor your potassium levels closely.

Spironolactone (Oral Route)

Do not consume Ramipril with Spironolactone in case of kidney disorders. If concurrent use is essential, your doctor may closely monitor your kidney function and adjust or discontinue the medicines accordingly.

Trimethoprim (Oral Route)

Do not consume Ramipril with Trimethoprim. If concurrent use is essential, please consult your doctor. They may monitor your potassium levels closely.

Ramizen 5mg Tablet belongs to the angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor group of drugs. It relaxes and widens the blood vessels, making it easier for the blood to pass through the vessels. As a result of this, the heart does not have to work more to push the blood. Since the workload on the heart is reduced, it is beneficial in heart failure. Talk to your doctor if it bothers you or you have trouble sleeping, as another medicine may be better. Even if you stop taking Ramizen 5mg Tablet, the cough may take a few days to a month to go away.
Yes, you may feel lightheaded, dizzy, your pulse may become slow and you may even faint. You should take the help of a relative or friend for an emergency or seek immediate medical support.
