How to use Ramifast Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Ramifast 2.5mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How Ramifast Tablet works

Ramifast 2.5mg Tablet is an angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor. It works by reducing stress on the heart and relaxing blood vessel so that blood flows more smoothly and the heart can pump blood more efficiently.

  • You have been prescribed Ramifast 2.5mg Tablet to improve blood pressure.
  • Lowering blood pressure reduces the chance of future heart attack & strokes.
  • It may also be used to treat chronic (long-standing) heart failure.
  • It protects kidney function, which is especially useful for people with diabetes or mild-to-moderate kidney diseases.
  • Ramifast 2.5mg Tablet can make you feel dizzy for the first few days.  Take it preferably at bedtime and rise slowly if you have been sitting or lying down.
  • Let your doctor know about any dizziness, cough, or throat irritation that doesn't go away.
  • Ramifast 2.5mg Tablet may cause the level of potassium in blood to go up. Avoid taking potassium supplements and potassium-rich foods such as banana and broccoli.
  • Do not take it during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Tell your doctor if you become pregnant while taking Ramifast 2.5mg Tablet.

Kidney
CAUTION
Ramifast 2.5mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Ramifast 2.5mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

Liver
