Overview

Introduction of Ormol Tablet DT

Ormol 650 Tablet DT helps in relieving moderate pain and reducing fever. It effectively alleviates pain and helps to reduce fever. It is used in many conditions such as muscle pain, back pain, and toothache.

Ormol 650 Tablet DT should be taken in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. It may be taken with or without food. Take it with food if stomach upset occurs. Inform your doctor if you are also taking other medications containing paracetamol to avoid overdose. Please consult your doctor in case your pain or fever does not subside. Vomiting, difficulty sleeping and constipation may be seen as side effects in some patients. Inform your doctor immediately if any rash or allergic reaction is observed while taking this medicine. Pregnant and nursing women should use it under medical supervision only. It should be used with caution in patients with liver and kidney disease or alcohol abuse. It is not recommended in patients with severe or active liver disease.

How to use Ormol Tablet DT

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Dissolve it in a glass of water before taking it. Ormol 650 Tablet DT is to be taken with food.

How Ormol Tablet DT works

Ormol 650 Tablet DT is an analgesic (pain reliever) and anti-pyretic (fever reducer). It works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain and fever.

UNSAFE
It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Ormol 650 Tablet DT Taking Paracetamol/Acetaminophen with alcohol can cause liver damage.
Pregnancy
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED
Ormol 650 Tablet DT is safe to use during pregnancy. Most studies have shown low or no risk to the developing baby.
Lactation
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED
Ormol 650 Tablet DT is safe to use during breastfeeding. Human studies suggest that the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in a significant amount and is not harmful to the baby.
Driving
SAFE
Ormol 650 Tablet DT does not usually affect your ability to drive.
Kidney
CAUTION
Ormol 650 Tablet DT should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Ormol 650 Tablet DT may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
However, Ormol 650 Tablet DT contains paracetamol which is considered the safest painkiller for kidney disease patients.
Liver
CAUTION
Ormol 650 Tablet DT should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Ormol 650 Tablet DT may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
However, the use of Ormol 650 Tablet DT is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease and active liver disease.

Q. What if my child vomits after taking Ormol?

If your child vomits in less than 30 minutes after having a dose of Ormol tablets or syrup, give him/her the same dose again. If your child vomits more than 30 minutes after a dose of tablets or syrup, you do not need to give him/her another dose, until the next normal dose.

Q. When will my child feel better after taking Ormol?

Usually your child will feel better after about half an hour of taking Ormol.

Q. How often can I give Ormol to my child?

You should only give four doses of Ormol in 24 hours. There should be a gap of at least 4 hours between two doses. Do not give Ormol for more than 3 days to your child without first talking to your doctor.

Q. Can I give Ormol syrup to my child for cold?

Ormol along with relieving fever also helps in controlling problems associated with cold such as headache and earache associated with cold. However, it does help relieve stuffy nose and cough for which doctor’s advice is required.

Q. Does Ormol make babies sleepy?

No, Ormol does not make babies sleepy, contrary to the common belief.

Q. Is Ormol safe for children?

If used as directed by the physician, Ormol is safe for children.

Q. Is Ormol an antibiotic?

No, Ormol is not an antibiotic. It works as a painkiller and as a medicine which brings down high fever.

Q. Can I give my child Ormol and ibuprofen together?

Ibuprofen and Ormol are safe painkillers which can be given to children, though both should not be used together. Instead, if you have given your child Ormol and still he/she is feverish or in pain you could try ibuprofen instead, when the next dose is due.
