You seem to be suffering from anxiety disorder. It is characterised by feeling anxious and fearful in situations that are normally non threatening. Diagnosis of anxiety disorders is primarily clinical and psychiatric evaluation is aimed at exploring history of symptoms, precipitation factors, duration, severity, effect on routine life and familial or genetic link etc. Certain medical conditions related to Thyroid disorders, cardiac disorder, respiratory disorders, other endocrine disorders etc may mimic acute anxiety episodes which need to be ruled out before a diagnosis of anxiety is formalized. Management of the disorder can be done by various modalities. Psychotherapy- Relaxation Therapy and Cognitive Behaviour therapy are most common interventions for psychological treatment of Anxiety Disorders. Various techniques are available which can be individualized to the patient?s requirement by a trained clinical psychotherapist for optimum response. Pharmacotherapy- Medicines are aimed at reducing the nervous excitability which results from exposure to perceived threat.
Dear Sir/Madam, I have a problem since my childhood. Normally I am ok, but when get nervous to speak/face anybody, (like teacher, Interview Board members, stranger people) i stammers a lot, and inside my heart beat became very faster. I can't speak even a single word fluently. I have tried that time to stay calm & relux, but i dont know why it happens with me. That was not a great reason for me to became so hyper. But i was. And stammerd every word. Normally when I speak with my friends, family members, known people, i speak fluently, there is no lagging in my speaking. I don't know what type of problem is it? Get an ECG done during the increase in heart beat or get 24 hour holter monitoring done. If there are no rhythm disturbances, psychiatric treatment is instituted for Anxiety Disorder.
