Octreotide(50 mcg)

Uses

Octride lactic acid formula 50 mcg injection is used in the treatment of acromegaly and bleeding esophageal varices (dilated blood vessels in food pipe).
It also relieves symptoms associated with functional gastro-entero-pancreatic (GEP) endocrine tumours.

How it works

Octride lactic acid formula 50 mcg injection works by blocking the effects of certain natural hormones in the body such as serotonin and growth hormone. It also decreases bleeding from food pipe by constricting (narrowing) the blood vessels.
