Nucsa 50mg Tablet is used to prevent the body from rejecting a new organ after a liver, kidney, heart transplant, or bone marrow transplantation. It weakens the immune system so that your body does not attack the new organ. It is also used to treat nephrotic syndrome, severe rheumatoid arthritis, and psoriasis.

The amount of Nucsa 50mg Tablet you take depends on your weight, medical condition, and what you are being treated for. Your doctor will plan the correct dose for you. Do not change the dose without talking to your doctor. It can be taken with or without food. It is better to take it in the same way and at the same time every day to get the maximum benefit. Keep taking it for as long as you have been told to, even if you feel well. Stopping treatment may increase the risk of your transplanted organ being rejected.

The most common side effects of this medicine include headache, unusual growth of facial or body hair, high blood pressure, diarrhea, gingival hyperplasia, and tremors. Because it lowers your immune system, you may also catch more infections than usual. Tell your doctor straight away if you develop an infection. For the same reason, you may be more at risk of developing some cancers, particularly of the skin. You should limit your exposure to sunlight.

Before taking this medicine, you should tell your doctor if you have liver or kidney problems, high blood pressure, gout (increased uric acid levels in the blood), or epilepsy. Also, tell your doctor about all other medicines you are taking, as they may affect the working of the medicine. This medicine should only be used in pregnancy if it is clearly needed. However, it is not recommended while breastfeeding. You will have frequent medical tests while taking this medicine to check your blood pressure, liver and kidney function, and mineral levels. The results of tests may lead to changes in your dose.

Nucsa 50mg Tablet can be used to treat severe psoriasis when other treatments have not worked or are not appropriate. Psoriasis happens when skin cells are replaced more quickly than usual. This medicine can improve your skin and reduce the symptoms of rash, redness, and pain. The improvement in the appearance of your skin can boost your confidence and improve your life. Psoriasis is a long-term condition. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as it is prescribed.

Treatment of Rheumatoid arthritis
Nucsa 50mg Tablet helps manage rheumatoid arthritis by suppressing overactive immune responses that drive joint inflammation and damage. Reducing immune-mediated inflammation helps relieve joint pain, swelling, and stiffness, and can slow the progression of joint damage in patients with active disease. When used as instructed, it can improve physical function and support better day-to-day comfort in people with rheumatoid arthritis.

Prevention of organ rejection in transplant patients
Nucsa 50mg Tablet belongs to a group of medicines known as immunosuppressive agents. It lowers your immune response and reduces the chance of your body attacking the transplanted organ. Organ rejection happens when your immune system treats the new organ as an invader and attacks it. This medicine suppresses the immune system and helps your body accept the new organ as if it were your own.

Nucsa 50mg Tablet is an immunosuppressant. It works by suppressing your body’s immune response to help accept a newly transplanted organ (e.g., liver, kidney, or heart). In rheumatoid arthritis, this immunosuppressive effect reduces inflammation (swelling) of joints and limits joint damage. In psoriasis, it works by reducing the activity of certain immune cells that cause overproduction of skin cells, thus improving scaling and redness.

Interaction with drugs

Taking Nucsa with any of the following medicines can modify the effect of either of them and cause some undesirable side effects

Life-threatening

Rosuvastatin (Oral Route)

Do not consume Rosuvastatin with Ciclosporin. Ciclosporin may raise blood levels of Rosuvastatin.

Life-threatening

Simvastatin (Oral Route)

Do not consume Simvastatin with Ciclosporin. If concurrent use is essential, watch out for symptoms such as decreased blood pressure, headache or swelling. Please consult your doctor. Ciclosporin may raise blood levels of Simvastatin.

Life-threatening

Pitavastatin (Oral Route)

Do not consume Pitavastatin with Ciclosporin. Ciclosporin may raise blood levels of Pitavastatin.

Lovastatin (Oral Route)

Do not consume Lovastatin with Ciclosporin. If concurrent use is essential, watch for symptoms such as unexplained muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness and consult your doctor. Ciclosporin may raise blood levels of Lovastatin.

Herpes Zoster / Shingles Vaccine (Recombinant, Adjuvanted) should not be used while undergoing treatment with Ciclosporin or for up to 6 months after stopping Ciclosporin.
