Nitoside 50mg Injection is a medicine used in the immediate treatment of hypertensive emergency (severely increased blood pressure) and acute heart failure. It brings about an immediate reduction in blood pressure and the workload of the heart.

Nitoside 50mg Injection is given as a drip into the vein under the supervision of a doctor. Your doctor is the right person to decide the dose and duration, hence do not try to self-administered the injection at home. Regular monitoring of blood pressure is required while on treatment. 

Decreased blood pressure (hypotension) may occur as a side effect of this medicine. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to conceive or breastfeeding. It is also advisable to avoid medication like sildenafil or tadalafil while on treatment as it may cause a sudden lowering of blood pressure.

  • Nitoside 50mg Injection is given as a drip (intravenous infusion) by your doctor or nurse.
  • If there is no considerable improvement in blood pressure within 10 minutes, stop the infusion immediately.
  • It may cause sudden lowering of blood pressure. Hence, regular monitoring of blood pressure is required during treatment.

  • Do not consume alcohol while taking Nitoside 50mg Injection as it may cause increased dizziness.
  • It may cause headaches which usually go away after a few days of continued treatment. Inform your doctor if it persists.
  • You may develop tolerance to Nitoside 50mg Injection with time, meaning that the same dose may be less effective next time. Follow the prescribed dosing schedule to avoid this.
  • Stop taking medications (prescribed for erectile dysfunction) like sildenafil or tadalafil while on treatment with Nitoside 50mg Injection as it may cause low blood pressure.

If left unprotected, 20% of the solution will deteriorate every 4 hours even in glass bottles. Therefore, it is necessary to prevent exposure of Nitoside 50mg Injection to any kind of light, especially fluorescent light.
