Questions Related to Nialip

Now a days we are receiving some alert with regard to taking vastatin tablet leads to diabetic. In my case, I used to take atorvastatin for very long period say for the last 15 years or so for my high level of colostrol particularly the increased levels in Triclisaride (400 to 500).My Doctor prescribed first Nialip which gave me some alergic, itching etc. Then my Dr. prescribed Lipigard/ Lipikind 5 mg to 10 mg. Now I am taking Turbovas-F daily. My colostrol level remains the same. For about a year ago when examined my blood, in fasting for blood sugar it shows 130 . This is the first time In my 75 years of age I found the elevated level of fasting sugar. Normally I used to examine my blood periodically and I never found such an elevated level of blood sugar. Now my Doctor advised me to take voglinorm .3 mg twice a day. Founding blood sugar in fasting is not a good sign and that you have to take this medicine. Accordingly I am following it up regularly. My question is, as said by some ( U.S) papers that the cause of my blood sugar (fasting) is taken of Vastatin tablet for a long period. Another question, that now a days it is stated that there is no good colostrol or bad colostrol and that the high level of colostrol indicates that the liver is functioning normally. Please elucidate. Thanking you, Yours faithfully, P.G.Vijairengam 9XXXXXX

Standard guidelines on cholesterol have not changed as yet, it is advisable to take statins in case of dyslipidemia. Diabetes is caused by a combination of risk factors like genetics, environment, ethnicity , age, weight etc. to blam lipid lowering drugs as a cause of diabetes would not be correct.
