Taking Naxic with any of the following medicines can modify the effect of either of them and cause some undesirable side effects

Life-threatening

Phenindione (Oral Route)

Do not consume Phenindione with Tranexamic Acid. If concurrent use is essential, please consult your doctor.

Life-threatening

Tretinoin (Oral Route)

Avoid concurrent use. Please consult with your doctor.

Severe

Acenocoumarol (Oral Route)

Do not consume Acenocoumarol with Tranexamic Acid.

Severe

Warfarin (Oral Route)

Do not consume Warfarin with Tranexamic Acid. If concurrent use is essential, please consult your doctor.

Moderate

Medroxyprogesterone acetate (Injection Route)

Do not use Medroxyprogesterone acetate with Tranexamic Acid. If concurrent use is essential, talk to your doctor.

Can Naxic Injection be given or injected into muscles?

No, Naxic Injection should not be administered by injection into the muscles. It should be given strictly through slow injection into the veins to prevent side effects.

Is Naxic Injection dangerous?

Every medicine has its own side effects and these side effects are unlikely to happen if taken as directed. Usually, the benefits of the medicine are greater than the risk of side effects. Naxic Injection can rarely cause serious side-effects which can be dangerous, like anaphylaxis (red and lumpy skin rash, difficulty breathing, swelling of face, mouth, lips or eyelids), clot in another part of the body or eye problems. Do consult your doctor before you start this medication and follow the instructions strictly as given.

Can Naxic Injection affect the colour vision of eyes?

Yes, there are chances of possible disturbances in your colour vision when you are on long term treatment with Naxic Injection. Hence, regular eye check should be done during treatment and doctor should be informed if you notice any change in your vision. If any changes are seen your doctor may stop the medicine and suggest an alternative.

Can Naxic Injection cause pulmonary embolism?

Naxic Injection promotes blood clotting and can rarely cause blood clot to travel to the lungs (pulmonary embolism) which can turn fatal sometimes. Pulmonary embolism is not a common side effect in patients taking Naxic Injection but can occur in overdosing, patients with long bedrest or prone individuals. Evidence suggests that the increased risk of clot can be due to some other additional risk factors as well.

Can you take Naxic Injection on an empty stomach?

Naxic Injection can be taken with or without food with a glass of water. The medicine should be swallowed as a whole and should not be crushed or chewed.

Does Naxic Injection affect fertility?

No, Naxic Injection does not affect fertility. It is taken for heavy menstrual bleeding and evidence suggests no interference of this medicine with ovulation (release of eggs from the ovaries). Therefore, this medicine is not a type of contraceptive medicine and it will not affect your chances of becoming pregnant.

Can Naxic Injection be taken for nose bleeding?

Yes, Naxic Injection can be used for nose bleeding. It helps to clot the blood and prevent bleeding. If the bleeding is frequently observed then the medicine can be even taken for a week.
