Mustone 60mg Tablet


Overview

Introduction

Mustone 60mg Tablet is a prescription medicine used for treatment of myasthenia gravis. It may also be used to treat inactivity of the muscle in the intestines (paralytic ileus) and difficulty in passing urine (urinary retention) after an operation.

Mustone 60mg Tablet also helps in reversing the effect of skeletal muscle relaxant after surgery. It is taken by mouth with food to avoid stomach upset. However, take it at the same time each day. If you have missed a dose, take it as soon as you remember it but avoid overdosing as can cause extreme muscle weakness. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. It is important that this medication is not stopped suddenly without talking to doctor as it may result in harmful effects.

Some common side effects of this medicine includes nausea, excessive salivation, diarrhea, blurred vision and watery eyes. It may also cause dizziness and sleepiness, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you.

How Mustone Tablet works

Mustone 60mg Tablet increases the levels of acetylcholine (chemical messenger) which allows free transmission of signals across the nerves and muscles.

Mustone 60mg Tablet may reduce the sharpness of your eyesight and therefore your ability to drive or use machines. Do not drive or operate machines if this medicine affects your ability to see clearly.
Kidney
CAUTION
Mustone 60mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Mustone 60mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Liver

What if you forget to take Mustone Tablet?

If you miss a dose of Mustone 60mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

hi, i have myasthenia gravis from 2011 undergone surgery, but still symptoms come and go for every 3 months. is there any alternative medicines my present medicine: gravitor 60mg/6-8 per day, wysolene 30mg/day shelcal ct-1/day azoran 50mg-3/day. is there any other treatments or medicines available that i can lead normal life Thanks in advance PATIENT

Q. Does Mustone cure myasthenia gravis? For how long do I need to take it?

Mustone helps reduce and improve muscle weakness and hence relieves the symptoms of myasthenia gravis but does not cure it. The length of time for which you have to take Mustone will depend on your needs. You should not stop taking Mustone until and unless advised by your doctor, even if you start feeling better.

Q. Will Mustone have any effect on my baby if I am breastfeeding?

A very small quantity of Mustone passes into breast milk, which may or may not affect your baby. Ask your doctor if you can continue to breastfeed your baby.

No, Mustone should not be taken for any type of constipation. It is used only when constipation occurs due to paralysis of the intestine and strictly on prescription by the doctor.
