Moxodoc 0.2mg Tablet is a medicine used in the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure). It lowers the blood pressure by relaxing the blood vessels. Lowering the blood pressure helps to prevent future stroke and heart attack.
Moxodoc 0.2mg Tablet can be taken with or without food. You can take it at any time of day but try to take it at the same time each day. You should take this medicine as advised by the doctor and never stop it abruptly without consulting the doctor. Most people with high blood pressure do not feel ill, but if you stop taking this medicine, your condition could get worse. This may lead to your blood pressure rising up again and increase your risk of heart disease and stroke.
It is important to have your blood pressure checked regularly. This medicine is only one part of a treatment program which should also include a healthy diet, regular exercise, smoking cessation, moderation of alcohol intake and weight reduction. You can eat normally while taking this medicine, but try to reduce your salt intake.

What if you forget to take Moxodoc Tablet?

Taking Moxodoc with any of the following medicines can modify the effect of either of them and cause some undesirable side effects
If concurrent use is essential, watch out for symptoms such as dizziness, fainting, blurred vision, nausea, fatigue, confusion, cold or clammy skin, shallow breathing or rapid puls
If concurrent use is essential, your doctor may monitor your blood pressure closely. Methylphenidate may reduce efficacy of Moxonidine.
Your doctor may monitor blood pressure and adjust the dose, if required.
Concurrent use may cause low blood pressure.
Do not consume Selegiline with Moxonidine. If concurrent use is essential, your doctor may monitor your blood pressure closely. They may adjust the doses as per the observations.
Caution is advised when taking Tizanidine with Moxonidine. It is recommended to lie down if you experience symptoms such as headache, fatigue, sweating or dizziness until they fade

Can I stop Moxodoc 0.2mg Tablet if my blood pressure is controlled?
Do not stop taking Moxodoc 0.2mg Tablet without talking to your doctor, even if you feel fine or your blood pressure is controlled. Suddenly stopping the medicine may cause serious changes in your blood pressure. If required, your doctor will slowly reduce the dose over 2 weeks.
When can I take Moxodoc 0.2mg Tablet?
In case you are prescribed a single lowest dose of Moxodoc 0.2mg Tablet, you can take it in the morning. On the other hand, if divided doses are to be taken, one dose can be taken in the morning and the other in the evening.
How should I take Moxodoc 0.2mg Tablet?
You should take Moxodoc 0.2mg Tablet exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Take it as a whole (without crushing or chewing it) with sufficient amount of water. It can be taken before, during or after meals, as food does not affect the working of Moxodoc 0.2mg Tablet.
Who should not take Moxodoc 0.2mg Tablet?
You should not take Moxodoc 0.2mg Tablet if you are allergic to it or have heart function insufficiency. Prefer not to use the medicine if you have a slow heart rate (below 50 beats/minute at rest) or suffer from an abnormal heart rhythm or a change in the rate of the heartbeat (called sick-sinus syndrome or second or third degree AV-block).
What are the symptoms of overdose of Moxodoc 0.2mg Tablet?
Symptoms of overdose of Moxodoc 0.2mg Tablet include headache, feeling sleepy, fall in blood pressure, feeling dizzy, unusual weakness, and slow heart rate. The other symptoms can be dry mouth, being sick, feeling tired, and abdominal pain. In case of overdose contact your doctor or nearest hospital emergency department immediately.
Can I take atenolol with Moxodoc 0.2mg Tablet?
You can take atenolol along with Moxodoc 0.2mg Tablet but inform your doctor that you are taking atenolol also. Also, if you plan to stop Moxodoc 0.2mg Tablet, stop taking atenolol few days before you stop Moxodoc 0.2mg Tablet. This is because stopping both treatments at the same time could result in an increased blood pressure.
Can Moxodoc 0.2mg Tablet affect my sleep?
Sleep disturbance is a common side effect of Moxodoc 0.2mg Tablet. This tends to be mild and settles down soon. Other common side effects may include headache, dizziness, vertigo (a spinning sensation), and sleepiness. Contact your doctor if these effects persist or worry you.
