Product introduction

Moxiyst Infusion is given as an injection into a vein (intravenous), in cases where oral administration is not possible, such as in hospitalized or unconscious patients. It is administered by a healthcare professional. Kindly do not self-administer. Avoid skipping any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better.

Some people may have a headache, dizziness, nausea, and diarrhea as side effects of this medicine. You may also notice some injection site reactions like pain, swelling, or redness. These are usually temporary and resolve on their own, but please consult your doctor if these side effects persist for a longer duration. Diarrhea may occur as a side effect but should stop when your course is complete. Inform your doctor if it does not stop or if you find blood in your stools.

You should not take this medicine if you are allergic to any of its ingredients. Special care should be taken in people with kidney problems while taking this medicine.

Moxiyst Infusion is an antibiotic medicine. It works by stopping the growth of the bacteria that is causing the infection. It helps relieve symptoms such as pain, redness, itching or soreness caused due to eye infections. The dose and duration of treatment will be decided by your doctor based on your condition. Make sure you complete the full course of treatment. This will ensure that the infection is completely cured and prevent it from returning.

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

How Moxiyst Infusion works

Moxiyst Infusion is an antibiotic. It works by stopping the action of a bacterial enzyme called DNA-gyrase. This prevents the bacterial cells from dividing and repairing, thereby killing them.

Quick tips

  • You have been prescribed Moxiyst Infusion for the treatment of bacterial infections of the eye.
  • Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better.
  • Apply pressure on the corner of the eye (close to the nose) for about 1 minute, immediately after instilling the medication.
  • Do not touch the tip to any surface, or to your eye, to avoid contamination.
  • Wait for at least 5-10 minutes before delivering the next medication in the same eye to avoid dilution.
  • It may cause short-term blurring of vision when first used. Use caution before driving or using machines.
  • Do not wear contact lenses until your infection clears up.
  • Make sure to use it within 4 weeks of opening the medication.
  • Your doctor has prescribed Moxiyst Infusion to cure your infection and improve symptoms.
  • Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better.
  • Discontinue Moxiyst Infusion and inform your doctor immediately if you get a rash, itchy skin, swelling of face and mouth, or have difficulty in breathing.
  • Diarrhea may occur as a side effect but should stop when your course is complete. Inform your doctor if it doesn't stop or if you find blood in your stools.
  • Notify your doctor if you feel pain in your tendons, numbness, or tingling sensations.
  • Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to conceive or breastfeeding.
