I am using nexito forte and mirtakem 15 mg since last 5 years as I am not able to go to sound sleep without a day off without these medicines. Along with these doctor had also prescribed 1.tinep forte and 2.nexipride25 as well that I used to take at noon. But due to high budget expenses I stopped taking the later two. I don't find any difference after stopping the later two. So will it be harmful if I don't take the later two and how long should I continue with the first two medicines as I am not able to take sound sleep if miss it for a day. Should it be advisable to reduce the powers of the medicines I take at night. As a day off with the medicines at night has made me psychologically think of missing the medicines might not let me go to deep sleep and it sticks in my mind as a result I am unable to sleep with deep. Please suggest me how to coupe up with this problem.

For first episode of anxiety/ depression/ panic, the usual maintenance phase is 6 months of asymptomatic period, after which medicines can be gradually tapered. But treatment may need to continue longer depending on severity and frequency of episodes. To take any decision to change medication or stop them, several factors have to be taken in account for which regular follow up with your psychiatrist is important. For second opinion, seek a proper consultation with another psychiatrist and take along your previous prescriptions.Medicines always need to be tapered of gradually. Nexito forte has clonazepam which needs to be stopped , followed by gradual reduction of escitalopram .
