Lyvelsa 10mg Tablet may be taken with or without food. Your doctor will decide the dose and duration of the medicine for you. The doctor may closely monitor your blood pressure, heart rate, electrocardiogram (ECG), estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR), urine albumin‐to‐creatinine ratio (UACR), and potassium level till you become stable. You should continue all your other medicines that are advised by the doctor for your long-term treatment even after this injection.

Common side effects of this medicine include high potassium level, low blood pressure, and low sodium level in the body. If you experience any of these side effects, consult your doctor. They may be able to help by reducing the dosage, or by prescribing you an alternate medicine.

This medicine may not be suitable for everybody. Let your doctor know if you are suffering from any kidney or liver disease. Let your doctor also know about all the other medicines you are taking for any medical conditions. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult their doctors before taking this medicine.

For patients who are unable to swallow whole tablets, Lyvelsa 10mg Tablet may be crushed and mixed with water or soft foods, before taking it.

Taking Lyvelsa with any of the following medicines can modify the effect of either of them and cause some undesirable side effects

Apalutamide (Oral Route)

Concomitant use should be avoided. Please consult with your doctor. Apalutamide may increase the metabolism of Finerenone.

Vilazodone (Oral Route)

If concurrent use is essential, your doctor may monitor your blood sodium levels closely.

Aceclofenac (Oral Route)

If concurrent use is essential, your doctor may monitor your potassium levels along with your overall treatment and adjust the doses as per the observations.

What is the dosing frequency of Lyvelsa 10mg Tablet?

Dosing of Lyvelsa 10mg Tablet is based on estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR). eGFR is the amount of waste, in milliliters, your kidneys should be able to filter in a minute. The initial dose of Lyvelsa 10mg Tablet is 20 mg daily for eGFR of ≥ 60 mL/min and 10 mg daily for eGFR of ≥ 25 to < 60 mL/minute. This medicine is not recommended for patients with eGFR < 25 mL/min. Your doctor may also adjust the dose if you have a high potassium level.

Can a breastfeeding women take Lyvelsa 10mg Tablet?

Breastfeeding is not recommended during treatment with this medicine and for 1 day after the treatment.

Can Lyvelsa 10mg Tablet result in low blood pressure?

Yes, Lyvelsa 10mg Tablet may cause a decrease in blood pressure that can lead to hypotension.
