How to use Longifene Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Longifene Tablet is to be taken with food.

How Longifene Tablet works

Longifene Tablet is an antihistamine. It works by blocking the action of a chemical messenger (histamine). This helps treat various allergic conditions such as conjunctivitis and urticaria. This also stops the vomiting centre in the brain from receiving nerve messages that would otherwise cause motion sickness (nausea & light-headedness).

What if you miss a dose of Longifene Tablet?

For kids, Montair LC is available as Montair LC KID tablet and Montair LC KID syrup. It contains Montelukast (4mg) and Levocetrizine (2.5mg). Montelukast is used to prevent and treat asthma, seasonal and year round allergies (hay fever), and prevent exercise-induced asthma. Levocetirizine is used to treat symptoms of allergic conditions such as allergic fever (hay fever), year-round allergies like dust or pet allergies and chronic nettle rash. It is best to take the drug at bedtime as it can make you drowsy.

No, the Indian government has banned the use of Longifene as an appetite stimulant [Gazette notification S.O. 6161(E)]. There are no studies available to show its rational use for increasing hunger. Longifene is used for relieving various symptoms of allergy and motion sickness.
