Larith 250mg Tablet is also effective against some infections (e.g., MAC or Mycobacterium avium complex) seen in people with reduced immunity. It stops the bacteria from growing, which helps to resolve your symptoms and cure your infection. This medicine is taken orally, preferably either one hour before or 2 hours after a meal. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Stopping the medicine too early may lead to the infection returning or worsening.

Common side effects with this medicine include diarrhea, nausea, indigestion, abdominal pain, headache, vomiting, and rash. These are usually temporary and subside with the completion of treatment. Consult your doctor if you find these side effects do not resolve or persist for a longer duration.

Inform your doctor if you have any previous history of allergy or heart problems before taking this medicine. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before using this medicine.

These include infections of the respiratory tract, ear, nose, throat, lungs, and skin. It is also effective against a bacteria known as H. pylori, which is associated with peptic ulcer disease. It stops further growth of the bacteria causing the infection and helps treat your infection.

This medicine usually makes you feel better quite quickly. However, you should continue taking it as long as it is prescribed even when you feel better, to make sure that all bacteria are killed and do not become resistant.

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

How to use Larith Tablet

Avoid Larith 250mg Tablet with tyramine-rich food such as cheese, smoked fish, meats and some types of beer.

Kidney

CAUTION

Larith 250mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment may be needed.

Liver

There is limited data available on the use of Larith 250mg Tablet in patients with liver disease.

Interaction with drugs

Taking Larith with any of the following medicines can modify the effect of either of them and cause some undesirable side effects

Life-threatening

Pimozide (Oral Route)

Do not consume Pimozide with Clarithromycin.

Life-threatening

Ranolazine (Oral Route)

Do not consume Clarithromycin with Ranolazine. Clarithromycin may raise blood levels of Ranolazine.

Life-threatening

Domperidone (Oral Route)

Do not consume Domperidone with Clarithromycin.

Life-threatening

Simvastatin (Oral Route)

Do not consume Simvastatin with Clarithromycin. If Clarithromycin is essential, your doctor may temporarily stop Simvastatin. Clarithromycin may raise blood levels of Simvastatin.

Life-threatening

Ivabradine (Oral Route)

Do not consume Ivabradine with Clarithromycin. Clarithromycin may raise blood levels of Ivabradine.
