Cytochrome P450 (CYP450) is an enzyme which causes metabolism (breakdown) of many drugs. Kiptoin does not cause hyponatremia (low sodium levels). However, Kiptoin is known to cause hypernatremia (high serum sodium level >145 mmol/L).
