Product introduction

Ifosmet 1000mg Injection is used in the treatment of different kinds of cancers. It is given alone or in combination with other chemotherapy medicines, radiotherapy and surgery to treat cancer of blood, breast, lung, ovaries, pancreas, testes, and lymph nodes.

Ifosmet 1000mg Injection is usually given as a slow infusion (drip) into a vein (intravenously) over several hours. Your doctor will decide what dose is necessary and how often you need to take it. This will depend on what you are being treated for and may change from time to time. You should take it exactly as your doctor has advised. Taking it in the wrong way or taking too much can cause very serious side effects. It may take several weeks or months for you to see or feel the benefits but do not stop taking it unless your doctor tells you to. It is advised that you drink extra fluids so that you pass more urine. This will help prevent bladder and kidney problems and keep your kidneys working well.

The most common side effects of this medicine include nausea, vomiting, anemia (low number of red blood cells), hair loss, decreased white blood cells count.  If these bother you or appear serious, let your doctor know. There may be ways of reducing or preventing them. It is very strong medicine and some people may develop serious side effects while taking it. This medicine may lower your ability to fight infections and lead to problems with your blood, liver or kidneys.

Before taking it, tell your doctor if you have liver, or kidney problems or are taking any medicines to treat infections. Many other medicines can affect, or be affected by, this medicine so let your doctor know all medications you are using. This medicine is not recommended during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. It may harm your baby. You and your partner should avoid becoming pregnant or fathering a child for several months after your treatment with it has stopped.

Ifosmet 1000mg Injection helps to treat breast cancer and it may be used alone or in combination with other medicines or treatment modalities like chemotherapy, to treat cancer in various parts of the body. It relieves the symptoms of breast cancer such as breast lumps, bloody discharge from nipples or changes in the shape or texture of the breast. Ifosmet 1000mg Injection kills or stops the growth of cancer cells and also prevents the multiplication of cancer cells. Discuss with your doctor if any of the side effects bother you.

In Non-small cell lung cancer

Non-small cell lung cancer is one of the major kinds of lung cancer and it affects both smokers as well as non-smokers. Ifosmet 1000mg Injection helps treat non-small cell lung cancer and may be given alone or in combination with other medicines. It is a potent and very toxic medicine and you should discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. You should avoid drinking alcohol while having this treatment and drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.

In Testicular cancer

Testicular cancer is the cancer in the male organs called testicles, that make male hormones and sperm. The testicles are located inside a loose bag of skin (scrotum) underneath the penis. Ifosmet 1000mg Injection kills or stops the growth of cancer cells and also prevents the multiplication of cancer cells in men. It is given as an injection by a doctor or nurse and should not be self-administered.

In Blood cancer

Blood cancer, also called leukemia, is a cancer of the blood-forming tissues, that decreases the body's ability to fight infection. Ifosmet 1000mg Injection kills or stops the growth of cancer cells and also prevents the multiplication of cancer cells. It is a potent and very toxic medicine and you should discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. You should avoid drinking alcohol while having this treatment and drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

What if you forget to take Ifosmet Injection?

If you miss a dose of Ifosmet 1000mg Injection, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

For smokers , definitely chronic , they have possibility to develop lung cancer, head and neck cancers, oesophagus cancer, pancreatic cancer, stomach cancer and so more on.
